Have you chosen to have your underfloor heating done by Smart Designs Constructors ltd? If yes, then you have made the right choice!

If you’re preparing to install underfloor heating but aren’t sure where to begin, on this page we are going to explain everything you can expect to properly prepare for the renovation project.

The word says it all, but do you know what’s involved? In summary, underfloor heating is a form of central heating in which the temperatures in your home are regulated by heating the floor. There are two types of underfloor heating systems:

  • Wet systems: With a wet system, you heat the floor of your living space by means of pipes with hot water under your floor. Plumbing is also necessary for this system. We have a large team of skilled plumbers with extensive experience.
  • Dry systems: With dry systems, the floor is heated via electricity, using heating foil. Our experienced team of professionals can also help with this type of underfloor heating!

With a new renovation project, you may choose to remove your radiators so that you have more space in your house. Instead of radiators for heat, we place the heating system in the floor instead. As a result, the heat is distributed more efficiently and wider in your home. Now you don’t need to worry about sofas or large pieces of furniture blocking the heat from your radiators. Smart Designs Constructors ltd. has teams of qualified specialists who can carry out this type of project as easy as ABC.

Depending on where you need the warmth and extra space, the choice is unlimited!

This can be done in the living room, kitchen, bathroom, bedroom and even the attic. You decide and we implement it.

We can carry out renovation work anywhere in your home. Our specialists are well trained for these exact jobs. We will provide you with tailor-made advice depending on the choice you make. We can talk you through which system may be best for you, and offer advice on where it may be best in your home.

With a wet system, costs are mainly influenced by processes such as integrating the underfloor heating into the floor by means of milling and levelling the floor. Obviously, this requires more labour and materials, so costs are likely to be up.

Dry systems are relatively cheaper to fit as they are not as hands-on to install. You also do not need expensive facilities such as a central heating boiler with the associated pipes and plumbing. The downside is that they may not be suitable or efficient for all properties and floor types.
